Agave and Tequila

In Mexican artisan Javier Ramirez's home town, the processing and distilling of tequila is an internationally-recognized tradition. Ramirez pays homage to the cultural beverage with this 'tree of life' sculpture. In the center, a tequila distiller stands atop a wood barrel as he harvests from an agave plant, surrounded by figurines depicting flowers, birds, and butterflies. Each piece is diligently crafted from ceramic and painted by hand, assembled by steel wire.
