Death personified with grace and humor, Catrina poses in a sexy green dress with flowers by her feet. As always, she wears a wide-brimmed hat. Artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association are inspired by the celebrated cartoon developed by José Guadalupe Posadas to poke fun at Mexico's high society during the early 1900's. Revealing Catrina's skeletal figure, the Oaxacan clay sculpture is painted by hand.

Very Colorful
Again very colorful love the style and how graceful the statue is ...yet again another imperfection this time on the left leg. A lump of clay that could have been sanded off before painting. This time I will not fix this imperfection due to the fact I cannot guarantee that I can match the color of green on the leg.
