Pink Autumn

Wilai presents this pair of cotton face masks, crafted in Thailand. The contoured masks are made from three layers of fabric, with elastic ear loops and silicone stoppers to adjust the length.

Artisans use an eco-printing technique known in the local dialect as Ouke-- a Northern Thai word meaning to 'ripen by heat.' Here, selected leaves and flowers are artfully arranged on the fabric, steamed, and left for up to two days to ferment, thus leaving their natural imprint permanently on the material.
