This colorful retablo by Alejandro Chávez houses six scenes taken from Andean beliefs and customs. The first features local animals, followed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The third shelf features Andean shepherds followed by the traditional Hat Dance. The fifth scene is about picking prickly pears in Ayacucho and the last scene portrays a local celebratory dance. Each ceramic figurine is crafted and painted by hand.

Wonderfull Retablo
This is a wonderful story of the people in a miniature way. The many aspects of the community that are livelihood are represented. I love this retablo.

I love this piece. It's so delicately made with variety of colors and it's very attractive. I enjoy looking at it. It was packaged with care and it included a ribbon with a small decorative piece of a traditional cultural doll. Thank you for having this unique piece available.
