Not One Woman Less

For this traditional retablo, Peruvian artisan Erika Ulloa draws inspiration from the Latin feminist movement known as Ni una menos, or 'Not One Woman Less' in English. Ni una menos is a collective protest against violence and murder committed against women in South America. Crafted by hand from ceramic, a group of women and men gathers in protest, accompanied by a banner with the hashtag '#niunamenos.' Ulloa displays this scene within a wood box, featuring hand-painted floral motifs in relief.
